This car was one of three cars sold by Byron International, and if memory serves me correct, the buyer paid around 6-6.5k for it.

I suspect that this may be a tough sale at H &H, the reserve is high. But, then again it is a clean and complete car needing restoration.

The car sold with buyers premium for 8,558 pounds, which was a good price for a complete 2.6 litre saloon in need of restoration. Thsi means the seller will not have made a profit, but nearly broke even.

However, complete cars in anything other than tatty condition are becoming harder to find. Will be interesting to see if this price level is repeated for other saloons. Fine cars and udner-rated for too long imho.

Subject: Re: 1951 Lagonda 2.6 Litre Saloon More Madness..

I was told recently that this car has unfortunately been broken up for its engine and gearbox. What a pity since this was a driveable car, and would not have taken a lot to get it up to road going standards.

The 2.6 litre engine and 4-speed DB box have been sold on for yet another DB2 owner.

I wonder, when will these people ever learn or stop their madness, aftwr 60 years the car should have been preserved ?
