Members interested in post war cars maybe be interested to note that the reasonably wholesome looking 3 litre saloon at H&H Duxford is apparently unsold...

The car reached £16,000, not enough to sell it apparently...

Interesting, thanks for the info ...seems low. Have not seen it in the flesh but it appeared a good basis for a restoration if I wasn't in the middle of my LG45 I could have been tempted!

I saw it at the H&H auction in the Spring, as mentioned on this forum at the time. For some reason, the successful bider (then) abandoned the idea of restoring her and the car was/is (I believe) residing with David Wall currently. You're correct - a reasonable project basis indeed. If I didn't have more than enough projects already, I would have had a go myself.

From my knowledge of the purchaser, when I last heard he had planned to chop off the roof, and make it into a dhc...

Thankfully, the car has been saved at the moment from this and it is I believe genuinely for sale under his purchase price...
